Michael Garmer (born June 14, 1964 in Ahaus , Westphalia ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Michael Garmer attended elementary school and grammar school in Ahaus from 1970 to 1983 and studied physics at the University of Münster and at the University of Munich from 1983 to 1989 . After graduating as a physicist , he worked as a research assistant in Hamburg and Erlangen from 1989 to 1994. In 1995 he became a Dr.-Ing. PhD . From 1998 to 2002 he studied business administration in Lahr and graduated with a degree in economics (FH).

From 1994 to 1999 he worked as a quality manager at the automotive supplier Hengst Automotive in Münster / Westphalia, from 1999 to 2008 as head of the certification body, later managing director at a certification company of DIN eV and TÜV Rheinland . Michael Garmer has been working as a personnel consultant since 2008, today as a partner at Selecteam Deutschland GmbH. At the same time, he is an honorary deputy. Chairman of the supervisory board of Caritas Familien- und Jugendhilfe GmbH. Garmer is a lecturer at Berlin universities and gives lectures on the subjects of business administration, energy management and business ethics.

In addition to his job, Garmer was politically active and has been a member of the Junge Union and the CDU since 1980. 18 September 2011 Garmer was in the Berlin state election, 2011 for the constituency Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf 7 as a delegate for the Berlin House of Representatives voted. In the 17th legislative period he was a member of the Committee on Economics, Research and Technology. In addition, he held the office of energy policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives. In 2016 he left the House of Representatives.

Garmer is Catholic, married and has one child.
