Michael Häberle

Michael Häberle (born October 6, 1969 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt ) is a German trade unionist and works council chairman of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim and research and development cars. Since January 1, 2019, he has headed the works council and is a member of the supervisory boards of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz AG.

Career

Michael Häberle completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Untertürkheim in 1986 . In 1996 he completed the technical college entrance qualification and passed the examination to become a state-certified mechanical engineer . In 2000 he successfully completed an extra-occupational course in business administration .

He worked in various areas of the company, including as an electrical mechanic in car development and as a commercial clerk at the Untertürkheim plant. Michael Häberle was elected to the works council for the first time in 1998 . He was elected deputy chairman of the works council in 2017 and thus also a member of the general works council .

Michael Häberle lives with his wife and daughter in Remseck am Neckar . He works as an honorary judge at the regional labor court , member of the local executive committee of the IG Metall office in Stuttgart and member of the large tariff commission.
