Michael Höntsch
Michael Hans Höntsch (born May 3, 1954 in Springe ) is a German educator and politician ( SPD ). He was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 2013 to 2017.
biography
Michael Höntsch grew up in Springe and passed the Abitur examination in 1974. He then went on to study history and political science, which he successfully completed in 1982 with his legal clerkship. He then worked, among other things, in adult education, and since 2002 as a high school teacher at the Ricarda Huch School in Hanover.
politics
Höntsch joined the SPD in 1985 and was a member of the Vahrenwald-List district council . In 2004, following the resolutions on Agenda 2010, he left the SPD and joined the party Die Linke . For the 2009 federal elections , Michael Höntsch ran as a direct candidate for the left in the Hanover I constituency , but was defeated by the SPD candidate Kerstin Tack . In 2010 Michael Höntsch returned to the SPD. In the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2013 , he won the direct mandate in the Hanover-Mitte state electoral district .
In the Lower Saxony state parliament he was responsible for the fight against the law for his parliamentary group. Höntsch was a member of the parliamentary committee for interior affairs and sport as well as the culture committee. He was also a deputy in the Committee for Science and Culture. He was previously a member of the Petitions Committee. In the Interior Committee, Michael Höntsch was responsible for the fight against the law , for political education and for memorial work.

Michael Höntsch is a member of the Lower Saxony Humanist Association and the German-Israeli Society .
