Michael Herz (producer)

Michael Herz (* before 1974) is an American film producer and director . Together with Lloyd Kaufman , he is the founder of the production company Troma Entertainment .

Life

Michael Herz met Lloyd Kaufman at Yale University . Herz played a role in Kaufman's debut film The Girl Who Returned . He then studied law at New York University and by chance saw the movie Cry Uncle! , where Kaufman was production manager. Herz contacted Kaufman again and participated in his next film, Sugar Cookies .

In 1974 the two founded Troma Entertainment. Herz joined Kaufman as the director of the original Waitress troma films ! (1981) to Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD (1991). After that he only took care of the production of the films.

Unlike Kaufman, who loves the public and appears in almost all films, Herz is more of a silent partner in Troma Entertainment. Herz only appeared in Class of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown and The Toxic Avenger, Part II as a speaker, as well as in a small supporting role in Class of Nuke' Em High .

As a scriptwriter he worked on the sex clothes Stuck on You! and The First Turn-On! .
