Michael Holmes

Michael Holmes (born December 13, 1960 in Perth , Australia ) is an Australian news presenter at the news channel CNN .

From 1973 to 1977 Michael Holmes studied at Wesley College in Perth. He started at Daily News, a Perth newspaper. He then switched to the television industry, initially at Nine Network in Australia. After this time he lived in London for four years . He has been with CNN International since 1991. He is the first Australian to act as a presenter on CNN.

As a reporter, he traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan and the Israel / Palestine conflict region . Holmes has more than 30 years of experience in the television industry.

In January 2004, Holmes and his team were ambushed. On the way to southern Iraq, the driver and the translator were shot dead by an unknown person.

He is currently hosting the " News Stream " program on CNN and sometimes " International Desk " (alternating with Hala Gourani ). Previously, together with Isha Sesay, the show Backstory (behind the scenes of the news and CNN). Michael Holmes currently lives in Atlanta , in the US state of Georgia . He has two children, a daughter and a son.
