Michael I. Esterházy de Galantha
Prince Michael I. Esterházy de Galantha (born May 4, 1671 in Forchtenstein (Hungarian: Fraknó); † March 24, 1721 in Vienna ) was a Hungarian nobleman in the Habsburg service.
Michael, son of Prince Paul I Esterházy , was politically insignificant. He took care of the famous patronage of the family and had the hunting lodge built in Fertőd , which was expanded over 50 years later under Prince Nikolaus I Joseph Esterházy to become Esterházy Palace (Fertőd) as one of the most representative palace complexes in Hungary.
Since Michael I died without having fathered a male, his brother Joseph became the next head of the family.
