Michael Klubertanz (born November 25, 1968 in Bad Neustadt an der Saale ) is a German conductor and an award-winning film composer .

life and career

Club dance grew up in Würzburg and attended the Matthias Grünewald grammar school there . He then completed a conducting course from 1988 to 1992 at the University of Music in Würzburg , which he completed with the Kapellmeister diploma. From 1993 to 1995 Klubertanz was the musical director of the instrumental association at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and from 1995 to 2007 Kapellmeister at the Theater der Stadt Heidelberg.

Klubertanz has been the musical director of the Academic Chamber Orchestra Karlsruhe since 2008 and lecturer at the opera school of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. He is married and lives in Mauer (Baden) .

Since 1988 he has been creating music for historical silent films , which he also accompanies live on piano and organ. Since 2011 Klubertanz has also composed film music for documentaries, series and feature films.

He maintains the work of the composer Hermann Zilcher on a voluntary basis , organizes performances, is co-author of the Hermann Zilcher homepage and wrote the Zilcher contribution for the lexicon of music in the past and present .
