Michael van Krücker (* 1961 ) is a German pianist , composer and publisher of musical works.

Life

Michael van Krücker studied piano at the music academies in Rotterdam and Düsseldorf and attended master classes with the pianists Bruno Canino (chamber music), Irina Zaritskaya , György Sándor , Tamás Vásáry and Daniel Wayenberg .

He played at various music festivals in Germany (including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival ) and other European countries. These included appearances in the Netherlands (Julius Röntgen Festival The Hague), France (Festival de la Roque d'Anthéron), Italy (Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan) and Belgium (Knokke-Heist Concert Festival). At his concerts and recordings, Krücker plays as a soloist, in a piano duo or in changing ensembles. As a chamber musician, he worked with the Kölner Rundfunkchor, the Chorus Musicus Köln and the Rheinische Kantorei and performed with the vocal soloists Christiane Oelze , Barbara Schlick and Klaus Mertens . Krücker also played with symphony orchestras such as the Gürzenich Orchestra , the WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra . He also worked with speakers, actors and authors Konrad Beikircher , Rolf Sudbrack, Christoph Bantzer , Will Quadflieg and Jörn Pfennig. His jeu perlé , the cultivated piano playing and the nuanced and poetic music-making were praised by the critics.

In addition, Michael van Krücker took part in radio and television recordings and has recorded several CDs. He has concentrated above all on making forgotten repertoire from the classical-romantic era accessible again to a wider audience. He is particularly interested in historical keyboard instruments. Another field of activity is the publication of piano works. He edited a number of such musical works for the Friedrich Hofmeister Musikverlag (Leipzig).

Michael van Krücker is a synaesthetist and experiences music as a combination of sounds and colors.
