Michael Krautzberger

Michael Krautzberger (* 1943 in Reichenberg ) is a German lawyer .

biography

Krautzberger studied law, political science, sociology and art history at the University of Munich from 1962 to 1968 . After his legal clerkship, he obtained his doctorate in 1971 with a thesis on the fulfillment of public tasks by private individuals jur. In the following two years he worked in the department for urban research and urban development of the state capital Munich.

In 1973 he moved to the Federal Ministry for Regional Planning, Building and Urban Development . There he was, among other things, personal assistant to the State Secretary and head of several departments. In 1991 he was appointed ministerial director as head of the regional planning and urban development department and was most recently head of the building and urban development department . In November 2003 he left the Federal Ministry.

Since 1993 he has been an honorary professor at the Faculty of Spatial Planning at the University of Dortmund and since 1998 at the Law Faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin . Until 2013 he was President of the German Academy for Urban Development and Regional Planning and is Deputy Chairman of the German Foundation for Monument Protection .
