Life

Study and start of career in the Soviet Union

From 1964 to 1971 Laitman studied at the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University (ETU) "LETI" (oldest electrotechnical university in Europe) in the Faculty of Biomedical Cybernetics (formerly Leningrad Polytechnic Institute) and successfully completed the course on January 8, 1971 with a master's degree of Science (MSc) in medical biocybernetics. During his studies he conducted research at the Institute for Hematology , where he specialized in the "electromagnetic regulation of the blood supply to the heart and brain" as part of his scientific work.

After completing his Master of Science in 1971, Laitman worked in several Soviet research institutions, in Kronstadt and Sevastopol , and a year later moved to Vilnius , Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic . He applied countless times for permission to immigrate to Israel . The Soviet government repeatedly refused his request. In 1974 his application to emigrate was finally approved and he emigrated to Israel that same year.

Spiritual birth in Israel

In search of the origin of the regulation of biological life, Laitman studied from 1975 with rabbis from the Kabbalah Center in and outside Jerusalem and from 1979 with Rabbi Baruch Ashlag the Jewish tradition and its works on the spiritual content of the Torah . In addition to the exoteric tradition of Judaism, which teaches the norms, customs and ceremonies of Jewish life in the Talmud , he also got to know the esoteric tradition of Judaism, which in the Kabbalah teaches the homing of the soul into the fulfillment and perfection of its spiritual life.

Profession and calling as the successor to Ashlag's Kabbalistic teaching method

In Israel, he first worked at his own dental clinic and in 1981 founded a successful company based on a medical treatment method he developed himself. But from the time he met Rabbi Baruch Ashlag in Jerusalem in 1979, he spent most of his time with him and became Ashlag's main Kabbalah student and personal assistant. In 1981 he began his first public Kabbalah lessons.

Later, in 1991, after the death of his teacher Rabbi Baruch Ashlag, he founded the Kabbalah Education & Research Institute Bnei Baruch , which was named after the Kabbalist Baruch Ashlag. The intensive systematic study, lessons and activities of the students are conducted according to the methods of Yehuda Ashlag - in the same way that he took it on from his teacher. The aim of the studies is to raise the spiritual level of humanity.

In 2004 Michael Laitman received his PhD in Philosophy and Kabbalah from the Moscow Philosophical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and received his PhD . Thanks to his extensive teaching experience, he was awarded the title of professor in ontology and epistemology by the highest interdisciplinary scientific commission of the Russian Federation in September 2004.

At the Dropping Knowledge on September 9, 2006 at Berlin's Bebelplatz , Michael Laitman was among the 112 prominent participants at the world's largest round table.

The Ashlag Research Institute (ARI) , founded by Laitman over the past ten years, aims to facilitate dialogue about the global crisis as an opportunity to enable a positive change in global thinking about educating future generations to deal with the massive changes in climate, economy and cope with geopolitical relations. His message and free materials aim to appeal to everyone, regardless of age, gender, religion, political or cultural considerations. It's about promoting positive changes in educational policy and practice through innovative ideas and solutions to the most pressing educational problems of our time. To this end, Michael Laitman introduced a new approach to education that takes into account the laws of an interdependent and integral world. To date, the ARI education program has attracted thousands of students from such places as North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Asia and Africa.
