Michael Lakner (* 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian lawyer , pianist , actor , director and theater director .

Career

Michael Lakner received his doctorate in law from the University of Vienna in 1985 and then studied piano and conducting at the Vienna University of Music. He also completed an acting and singing course.

From 1981 he worked as a song accompanist and went on concert tours at home and abroad, including the USA , Japan , South Africa , Great Britain , Egypt , France and a number of other countries.

He accompanied Angelika Kirchschlager , Silvana Dussmann , Robert Holzer , Martina Serafin and other artists. In 1988 Lakner made his debut as a film actor in the lead role of the feature film Borderline (Director: Houchang Allahyari ), with Lakner also taking on the film music.

From 1991 to 2001 he was artistic director of the Graz Opera , and in the 2001/02 season he moved to the management of the Basel Opera House . In 2004 he took over the management of the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl operetta festival . Lakner has headed the Baden stage since 2017 .
