Michael Lane (born April 7, 1986 in Nuremberg ) is a German-American singer / songwriter.

biography

Lane was born in Germany to a German mother and an American father. When he was six years old, his father returned to the United States with the family. There he grew up in Green Bay , Wisconsin and joined the US Army at the age of 20 after high school . He was used as a helicopter mechanic in the Iraq war and was also in Afghanistan . After his return, his marriage failed. Therefore, in 2012 he tried a fresh start in Weißenohe-Dorfhaus north of Nuremberg, where he had lived as a child. There he strove to work as a geriatric nurse.

In 2012 Michael Lane took part in the singing casting show The Voice of Germany . In the group of coach Xavier Naidoo he was able to prevail against Gil Ofarim , among others . His interpretation of the song Angel , originally by Sarah McLachlan , was released as a download song and hit the charts. In the semifinals, Lane sang the self-written song Mrs. Lawless . Since his opponent had resigned for health reasons, he automatically made it to the final of the last four and finished third.

In 2014 he married his girlfriend and moved to Spalt . The couple had a child in early 2015.
