Michael Lebler (born December 30, 1986 in Penticton , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian - Austrian ice hockey player who was active in the Austrian ice hockey league for the EHC Linz . His father was Edward and his brother Brian is also a hockey player.

Career

Michael Lebler began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with the Penticton Vees, for which he was active in the junior league British Columbia Hockey League in the 2004/05 season . He then played for two years for the Nelson Leafs junior team from the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League. From 2007 to 2011 he attended Iowa State University , for whose ice hockey team he took part in the American Collegiate Hockey Association while studying . For the 2011/12 season he moved with his brother Brian to EHC Linz from the Austrian ice hockey league . With the team he won the national championship title in spring 2012 . In October 2012 Michael Lebler was loaned to the Dornbirner EC before ending his career in December of the same year. He then returned to Canada to work as an engineer.
