Michael Luptowits

Michael Luptowits (born December 8, 1915 in Bosanski Brod , † September 29, 1998 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and secondary school teacher. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1959 to 1960 and from 1965 to 1966 , from 1960 to 1965 a member of the Carinthian state parliament and from 1966 to 1979 a member of the National Council .

After primary school, Luptowits attended the community school and then moved to a business school in Bratislava for a year . After one class, however, he left the commercial school and continued his training at the teacher training college in Prague, where he graduated in 1936. He first worked at various schools in Slovakia and then became the director of the civil school in Bösing . After a time as an unskilled worker and employee of the Porsche company in Gmünd, Lupowits joined the Carinthian school service in 1950 and worked as a secondary school teacher in Spittal an der Drau . He was given the professional title of Professor.

Luptowits was active within the party as city party chairman of the SPÖ Spittal and district party chairman of the SPÖ Spittal, he also worked as a cultural advisor for the city of Spittal and education officer for the Carinthian SPÖ regional organization. He represented the SPÖ between May 22, 1959 and March 30, 1960 in the Federal Council, was then a member of the Carinthian State Parliament from 1960 to 1965 and was then again a member of the Federal Council between April 12, 1965 and March 30, 1966. Then he was from March 30, 1966 to June 4, 1979 member of the National Council.
