Michael Maerker

Michael Maerker (born December 6, 1955 in Leverkusen , † October 11, 2005 in Wesel ) was a German sculptor .

Life and achievement

He completed a solid technical training as a stonemason and then worked for some time in Wesel at the local cathedral building . He later studied at the Flensburg Werkkunstschule and graduated as a state-certified designer. As a lecturer for creative artistic work, especially for stone design, he was u. a. in Bad Ems and at the Klausenhof Academy in Hamminkeln-Dingden . In recent years Michael Maerker has lived and worked as a freelance artist in Wesel on the Lower Rhine and in his studio on the Greek island of Kea .

Works

He showed his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions on the Lower Rhine. He was the founder of the Kaleidoskop artist group .
