Michael Malarkey (born June 21, 1983 in Beirut , Lebanon ) is an American actor and singer-songwriter .

life and career

Michael Malarkey was born in Beirut, Lebanon in June 1983 to an Irish-American father and an English mother. The family moved to the United States , where he grew up in Yellow Springs , Ohio . In 2006 he moved to London to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art .

He made his first acting experiences in the documentary television series Discover! and The Dark Side of Science . In addition, he was also represented in a few short films and plays. In 2013 he got the lead role of Prince Maxon in the The CW pilot film The Selection , which is based on the novel by Kiera Cass. However, when the pilot did not become a series, he got the role of Anthony in the Irish television series Raw . He became known for the role of Enzo in Vampire Diaries , in which he has been seen since December 2013. The role was initially designed for a supporting role, but was expanded to a main role with the order of a sixth season.

In September 2014 Malarkey released his first single, Feed the Flames , which is also included on the EP of the same name , which was released on October 12, 2014. On September 8th, 2017 his album "Mongrels" was released, the first release of which is Uncomfortably Numb .

Malarkey has been married to actress Nadine Lewington since 2009 .
