Michael Manna (born October 9, 1971 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , USA ) is an American wrestler .

Career

Beginnings

Manna was trained by Mike Sharpe. First he entered in smaller independent promotions, the so-called independent leagues such as the World Wide Wrestling Alliance .

Extreme Championship Wrestling / World Championship Wrestling

On February 25, 1992 he made his debut with the ECW . There he was initially known as Raven's "nose-piercing appendage" and later formed a tag team with him . With Raven, he was allowed to hold the ECW World Tag Team Champion title twice there .

In the old ECW, Manna was also responsible for the league hotline and telephone ticket sales, for which he worked under another pseudonym.

After his recovery, he signed with World Championship Wrestling in 1997 . However, he did not stay there long and left the organization again in October of the same year.

Extreme Championship Wrestling / World Wrestling Federation

Manna went back to ECW and started parodying famous wrestlers there. For example, he created a figure that was based on the wrestling legend Baron von Raschke and came from Düsseldorf . A little later he founded the bWo together with Nova and Da Blue Guy , a parody of the nWo in the WCW. The high point of his ECW career was his participation in the first ECW PPV Barely Legal in 1997 . There he was allowed to compete in a three-way dance match against Terry Funk and the Sandman . The winner should then compete against Raven for the ECW championship title. But shortly before this match, Manna suffered a protracted neck injury that resulted in numerous operations and which continues to break out today. Manna was eliminated from this tournament early on.

Michael Manna was a member of the ECW until mid-August 1999.

On August 15, 1999 he made his debut in what was then the World Wrestling Federation . After a short time he was employed there as a manager .

After various feud programs , Manna was assigned to the RAW squad . There he was allowed to win the WWE Hardcore Champion title 22 times .

In 2004 he appointed himself general manager of the WWE B show Sunday Night Heat . In February 2005 he was injured in a match against Chris Masters and suffered a broken nose. Manna also made a brief appearance as part of the bWo at the 2005 WWE Pay-Per-View ECW One Night Stand .

In June 2005 he switched between RAW and SmackDown as part of the line-up change ! from RAW to SmackDown! There he only worked as a jobber most of the time . Because of his neck problems, Richards was not actively involved for half a year. He made his comeback shortly before Wrestlemania 22 .

After the WWE Pay-Per-Views, the ECW One Night Stand in 2005 and 2006, Extreme Championship Wrestling made a comeback in the summer of 2006, which had now been created as the ECW brand . Manna left SmackDown in the summer of 2006 and went back to ECW.

Initially Manna was used only sporadically and was often only in the house shows in use. After various feud programs (including with CM Punk ), Manna was involved in the title event in mid-2006.

From September 2007 he was inactive again due to his protracted neck injury. In February 2008, Stevie Richards made his comeback and was allowed to win every time in his first match. At Wrestlemania 24 he entered the 24-man Battle-Royal, the winner of which got a title match at the ECW Championship that same evening . On August 15, 2008, Manna was released by the WWE.

Independent / Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

After his release, he initially worked for the independent organizations Maryland Championship Wrestling and NWA No Limits .

On February 12, 2009 he made his debut as Dr. Stevie at TNA Impact , hosted by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . There he had the gimmick of a therapist from Abyss and later from the wrestler Daffney. As of July 2010, after a six-month hiatus, this gimmick was dropped and he reappeared under the name Stevie Richards as part of EV 2.0 , a group of former ECW wrestlers. On January 11, 2011, he left TNA.
