Father Michael Marsch OP (* 1932 ) is a German Dominican priest, qualified psychotherapist, writer and founder and director of the House of St. Raphael.

biography

Michael Marsch lives in the Heiligkreuztal Monastery , a former Cistercian monastery in Upper Swabia. Today the monastery is the educational center of the Stefanus community , a spiritual center of the region and a diocesan educational center.

On October 4, 1986, Marsch founded the Dominican lay community of St. Raphael in Heiligkreuztal. For decades he worked as a preacher, especially in retreat courses on all five continents, which focused on healing from the sacraments. Since 2005 he has been the spiritual director of the Life Science Community , a research community for holistic healing in association with the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University (Sweden).

Activity as a translator

Marsch, who worked in the theater as a young man, began his literary work as a German translator for the American Francis Scott MacNutt, who at that time also belonged to the Dominican Order (MacNutt entered into a civil marriage in 1980). Marsch also translated from the American for Matthew Linn, who also came from the charismatic movement . Marsch also translated several books from French, such as titles by the Belgian theologian Daniel-Ange de Maupeou d'Ableiges and the Jewish religious scholar David Flusser . A particularly intensive literary collaboration existed between the translator Marsch and the Canadian Jean Vanier .
