Michael Morris, 3rd Baron Morris

Michael David Morris, 3rd Baron Morris ( December 9, 1937 - May 5, 2011 ) was a British peer and politician ( Conservative Party ).

Life

Morris was born on December 9, 1937 to Michael William Morris, 2nd Baron Morris and Jean Beatrice Maitland Makgill Crichton. The parents divorced in 1946. Michael Morris attended Downside School , a Catholic private school in Stratton-on-the-Fosse in the county of Somerset .

Morris was a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA).

Morris was married a total of four times. On November 11, 1959, he married Denise Eleonore Richards, the only daughter of Morley Richards. The marriage ended in divorce in 1961. On September 4, 1961, he married Jennifer Gilbert, only daughter of Major ( Squadron Leader ) Tristram Gilbert. This marriage resulted in two children. This marriage ended in divorce in 1969. On June 25, 1980, he married Juliet Susan Buckingham, the twin daughter of Anthony Buckingham, third. They had two sons and a daughter together, including the later title heir Thomas Anthony Salmon Morris (* 1982).

In 1999 he married Nicola Mary Watkins, the only daughter of Colin Morgan Watkins. He was married to her until his death.

Morris died on May 5, 2011 at the age of 73. His son inherited the title of Baron Morris as Thomas Morris, 4th Baron Morris .

Membership in the House of Lords

He inherited his father's title and the then associated seat in the House of Lords on March 11, 1975 when he died. In the House of Lords he sat for the Conservative Party .

During the session from 1997 to 1998, he was not present in the House of Lords. In the session from 1998 to 1999, he took the oath on December 2, 1998 and attended the sessions almost every day.

Its membership ended by the House of Lords Act 1999 on November 11, 1999.
