Michael Narten

Michael Narten (born March 18, 1964 in Hanover ) is a German graphic designer , author and architectural photographer .

Life

Growing up in Hanover, Michael Narten completed an apprenticeship in an advertising agency from 1981 and then worked as an employee in the field of illustration , as a graphic designer and finally as an art director in a communications agency based in Hamburg . He also performed as a guitarist with a band and composed his own rock music .

In the early 1990s Narts began with the inclusion of black and white photographs with a focus on landscape and architectural images became increasingly freelance active and started in 2000 independently . In his own office, he designed products for customers from the industry, developed corporate designs , customer magazines and business reports, the designs of which have received awards from Manager Magazin . In 2004 Michael Narten started designing his first books, and later also his own book concepts, for which he developed the photographs, graphics and texts.

Michael Narten first appeared as an author in November 2009 with texts for the illustrated book “Zeitreise durch Hannover. Out and about with Wilhelm Hauschild ”. Narten's books on the history of the city of Hanover have since been published by Leuenhagen & Paris . In Narten's 2013 illustrated book Zeitreise durch Hannover. He juxtaposed cityscapes then and now - mostly from almost exactly the same point of view - detailed historical architectural photographs by various authors with current color views, thereby enabling the viewer to become aware of developments and inviting the reader to reconsider their own life.
