Michael Owen Wise
Michael Owen Wise (born February 17, 1954 ) is an American ancient orientalist and biblical scholar.
He studied at the University of Minnesota ( BA ), the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois ( M.Div. ) And the University of Chicago , where he completed his dissertation in 1988 with The Temple Scroll. Its Composition, Date, Purpose and Provenance . He was then Assistant Professor at the Oriental Institute and the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago, before becoming Professor of Hebrew Bible and Ancient Languages at the Department of Biblical and Theological Studies at Northwestern College in Saint Paul (Minnesota) was.
His main research area is the Dead Sea Scrolls .
