Michael Peskin

Michael Edward Peskin (born October 27, 1951 in Philadelphia ) is an American theoretical physicist .

Life

Peskin studied from 1969 to 1973 at Harvard University , where he received his bachelor's degree in physics and chemistry in 1973 . He then studied at Cornell University , where he received his doctorate in 1978 . After postdoctoral research at Harvard University, the Center d'Études Nucléaires de Saclay and Cornell University, he has been working at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center since 1982 - first as an associate professor and since 1986 as a professor.

Act

He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .

He is co-author of a well-known textbook on quantum field theory . He also wrote many reviews for physics.
