Michael Pfurtscheller
Michael Pfurtscheller (born September 29, 1776 in Fulpmes ; † February 3, 1854 there ) was Grander landlord and rifle captain of Fulpmes. He ran an inn, the family-owned trading company and a forge. In addition, he was the mayor of Fulpmes for several years. In 1797 he took part in the Battle of Spinges (like Katharina Lanz and Anton Reinisch ) and was in the Tyrolean uprising of 1809 under Andreas HoferLeader of the Stubai Riflemen. A street in Fulpmes - Michael-Pfurtscheller-Weg - is named after him. Furthermore, in the course of the Stubai rifle battalion festival, a memorial was erected at the Kranerhaus on Kirchplatz in 2007.
As a driving force, he succeeded in bringing the depressed small iron production in Fulpmes back to a new level. Joint marketing was essential for this.
