Michael Philipp (* 1982 in Gerbrunn ) is a German chef .

Career

Michael Philipp learned to cook with Fritz Schilling in the Schweizer Stuben in Wertheim (two Michelin stars ). It was there that he met his current wife Heike, who was a restaurant specialist and sommelier .

In 1996 he went into business for himself and bought a 400-year-old patrician house from the Renaissance in Sommerhausen , which the previous owner had already built into a starred restaurant. Here he opened the Philipp restaurant , which has been awarded one star by the Michelin Guide 2004.

Philipp describes his style as French-inspired, light cuisine.

Private

Michael and Heike Philipp have two children.
