Michael Pietsch (born July 17, 1967 in Hamburg ) has been Professor of Old Testament at the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau since 2014 .

Life

From 1977 to 1986 he attended the municipal high school in Kaltenkirchen . From 1987 to 1994 he studied Protestant theology in Heidelberg , Basel , Tübingen and Kiel . On February 3, 1994, he passed the first ecclesiastical examination at the North Elbian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kiel. from 1995 to 1996 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Old Testament and Biblical Archeology at Kiel University. From 1997 to 1999 he completed the vicariate in the apostle parish in Horborg . On March 26, 1999, he passed the second church examination at the North Elbian Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kiel. From 1999 to 2002 he was a research assistant at the Göttingen Academy of Sciences (with a service assignment at the Schleiermacher Research Center at Kiel University). After receiving his doctorate on January 30, 2002 as Dr. theol. At the University of Hamburg (summa cum laude) he was a university assistant at the Institute for Old Testament in the Department of Protestant Theology in Hamburg from 2002 to 2008 . In 2009 he was a research assistant (50%) at the Institute for Systematic Theology and Social Ethics at the University of Kiel. In 2009 he represented the professorship for biblical studies (50%) in the Protestant Theology department at the University of Hamburg. From 2009 to 2010 he was a research assistant (100%) at the Institute for Systematic Theology and Social Ethics at the University of Kiel. From 2010 to 2011 he represented the professorship for religious studies with a focus on literatures of religions at the Institute for Religious Studies and Religious Education at the University of Bremen . After ordination on February 27, 2011 as pastor of the North Elbian Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Georg auf dem Berge and habilitation on July 13, 2011 in the subject of the Old Testament at the Department of Protestant Theology of the University of Hamburg (award of the venia legendi for the subject Old Testament) he represented the professorship for Old Testament at the Department of Protestant Theology at the University of Hamburg from 2011 to 2012. From 2012 to 2013 he was professor for the Old Testament and Ancient Judaism at the Institute for Protestant Theology at the University of Osnabrück . In 2013 he represented the professorship for the Old Testament at the University of Munich . From 2013 to 2014 he was a research assistant at the Göttingen Academy of Sciences (with a service assignment at the Schleiermacher Research Center at Kiel University).
