Michael Reicherts (born August 3, 1950 in Stuttgart ) is a German psychologist . He is Emeritus Professor at the University of Friborg (Switzerland) , where he French-speaking Department of Clinical Psychology held. His work focuses on stress and emotion research, the development of new diagnostic instruments and methods of psychological counseling and intervention.

biography

Michael Reicherts went to school in Bingen am Rhein , where he graduated from the Stefan-George-Gymnasium in 1969. He then studied economics in Cologne (diploma 1975) and psychology in Bonn (diploma 1981). He was an assistant at the Universities of Cologne , Bonn and Freiburg (Switzerland) . There he received his doctorate in 1988. phil. and completed his habilitation in psychology in 1996. He has been teaching and researching at the University of Geneva since 1992, and in 1997 he was appointed professor for "Psychology clinique" at the University of Friborg, where he was appointed full professor of the same-named chair in 2001. In 2011 he retired. He was visiting professor at the University of Geneva in 1999 and has been a professor at the Swiss Distance Learning University (UniDistance) since 2010.

Various new courses at the master's and postgraduate level in the field of clinical psychology , health psychology and psychotherapy (e.g. Master of Science in Clinical and Health Psychology; Certificat en Intervention comportementale et cognitive) - especially in French-speaking Switzerland - were launched by Reicherts . initiated and led with.

Reicherts served as President of the Department of Psychology in 2002 and 2006 and was the first President of the newly created Directors' Conference of the Swiss Psychological Institute from 2002 to 2003.
