Michael Rieth

Michael Rieth (born November 28, 1944 in Bauschlott Castle ; † October 24, 2014 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German music critic, actor, dramaturge and author.

Michael Rieth studied philosophy and art history in Frankfurt. He lived for several years a. a. in Andalusia, Jamaica and Ireland. He worked as a tutor, dramaturge, actor, published features and reviews of jazz and pop music , prose and poetry, radio and television features, theater texts, essays for the Frankfurter Rundschau and the young world . He has published several volumes of poetry and a biography of the Frankfurt musician and impresario Horst Lippmann . The choreographer Marie-Luise Thiele was his partner.
