Michael Roesen

Michael Roesen (* 1814 in Bonn ; † 1835 in Düsseldorf ) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Michael Roesen, possibly related to the porcelain and still life painter Severin Roesen , studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1832 to 1835 . There he was a student of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer's landscape class . In addition, he was instructed in the construction class of Karl Friedrich Schäffer in 1835 . As an art student, he gave private lessons to the budding painter Franz Wieschebrink . In addition to a self-portrait from 1834, Johann Josef Scotti mentions four landscapes and architectural views that Roesen exhibited in public:

  • Forest landscape (1834)
  • Bentheim Castle in Westphalia (1835)
  • The Chapel on the Linden (1835)
  • Westphalian farm (1835)
