Michael Scherz

Michael Scherz (born September 11, 1895 in Gainfarn ; † May 28, 1982 Bad Vöslau ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and wine maker . Scherz was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1954 to 1964 .

Scherz learned the carpenter's trade after elementary school, which he practiced until 1945. Scherz also served in World War I between 1915 and 1918 and was also drafted between 1943 and 1945. Scherz was a councilor in Gainfarn between 1924 and 1934 , but lost his mandate when the Social Democratic Party was banned. After the Second World War, Scherz was Deputy Mayor of Bad Vöslau from 1945, and between 1950 and 1970 he held the office of Mayor. Scherz also represented the SPÖ from June 12, 1954 to November 19, 1964 in the Lower Austrian state parliament.
