Michael Schneider (born December 5, 1953 ) is a German politician, formerly Die Linke , in Berlin.

biography

Schneider is a trained electrician , master locksmith and training instructor and was deputy district mayor and district councilor for environment / green / building construction, later real estate management in the Berlin district of Treptow-Köpenick from December 2001 to October 2011 . Before that, he was a member of the Treptow District Assembly from May 1990 to October 2001, including several years as leader of the PDS parliamentary group . For the election in September 2011, he was nominated for the district assembly at number 2 on the list of his party Die Linke, but after the election he was no longer placed as one of two possible district office candidates. He left the Die Linke parliamentary group on January 1, 2012 and is now a non-attached member of the BVV Treptow-Köpenick.

Schneider was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from October 2001 to December 2001 and, as required, resigned his mandate by accepting the office of District City Councilor.
