Michael Spohn

Klaus Michael Spohn (born June 26, 1942 in Stuttgart , † July 1985 in Konstanz ) was a German writer and draftsman as well as a Swabian dialect poet . He received the Squidward Troll Prize in 1983 .

Life

Spohn first grew up in Weingarten , moved to Reutlingen in 1952 and attended the Friedrich-List-Gymnasium there . After completing his traineeship at the Black Forest Bote in Oberndorf, he worked there as an editor . Employment in Balingen, Donaueschingen and Kornwestheim followed. In autumn 1968 he came to the Stuttgarter Nachrichten via the Reutlinger Generalanzeiger , where he stayed until he moved to Constance in 1980. He then devoted himself mainly to writing.

Spohn was a member of VS, the Society for the Promotion of Dialect and on the board of the Association of German Writers in Baden-Württemberg.

Spohn married in 1970, and daughter Katrin was born two years later. The marriage ended in divorce in 1975.

In July 1985 Michael Spohn committed suicide in his apartment in Constance.
