Michael W. Horsten

Michael W. Horsten (born April 4, 1963 in Virum , Denmark ) is a Danish director and screenwriter . The short film Theis and Nico (Bror, min bror), which he made together with Henrik Ruben Genz , was nominated for an Oscar in 2000 for “Best Short Film (Live Action)”.

Life

Michael W. Horsten attended the Danish Film School , which he graduated in 1996. He worked closely with the director Henrik Ruben Genz, for whom he wrote a number of screenplays. This also applies to the short film Theis and Nico , which is about youthful love and for which he and the director were nominated for an Oscar. In 1999 he gave back to the city! his directorial debut. Back to town! and Kleiner Papa (2004) received awards from the German Children's Fund at the Children's Film Festival (today: Generation ) of the Berlinale .

As a screenwriter, he wrote for the crime series Kommissarin Lund - Das Verbrechen (2007-2009).
