Life
Werner's art campaign for EU expansion attracted international attention , in which people in 44 countries opened 10,000 umbrellas at the same time, surpassing Christo , who opened 3,100 umbrellas in America and Asia in 1991. The campaign triggered a press response in numerous EU countries.
With his art records, Werner would like to portray our social system and its emphasis on performance. That is why the artist himself goes to the limits of physical endurance in his actions. For example, at the 2002 Tunnel Art Festival in Tübingen, he painted a 220-meter-long tunnel with countless Picasso bulls' heads non-stop in 30 hours. At the III. At the International Art Festival in Magdeburg, Werner sprayed 1001 coke bottles on a bridge, surpassing Andy Warhol. At the Streetlife Festival in Munich, Werner painted a 160-meter-long picture with Keith Haring figures non-stop in 26 hours and 30 minutes and exceeded his record from 1989 (Chicago) by eight meters. In Werner's opinion, it is not creativity, but record-seeking, performance-oriented striving that characterizes our social system and his works.
