Michael Werner (born October 26, 1945 in Würzburg ) is a former German motorboat pilot and, as a five-time racing boat world champion, the most successful racing boat driver in Germany.

Life

Werner began an apprenticeship as a car mechanic in Würzburg at the age of 13. After his master's examination, he moved to Kerpen , where he began to work for a boat builder who also drove boat races. In 1967 Werner competed in his first boat race, followed by 800 more by 1997, in which he won 500 times and rolled over 14 times. During his racing career, Werner was five times world champion, five times vice world champion, six times European champion, as well as title holder of numerous national titles. In 1997 he ended his active career and then became the only German team manager of a racing boat team.

Werner is divorced and has a daughter.
