Michaela Gansterer-Zaminer (born December 10, 1959 in Hainburg ) is an Austrian politician and innkeeper. From April 24, 2003 to April 9, 2008 she was a member of the Federal Council for the ÖVP .

Life

Michaela Gansterer-Zaminer graduated from the grammar school in Bruck an der Leitha , and then the higher federal college for economic professions in Vienna , which she graduated with the Matura . After several professional positions, she has been running the family-owned Gasthof Zum Goldenen Anker in her place of birth since 1992 .

politics

She is a member of the Hainburg municipal council.

Michaela Gansterer-Zaminer made headlines when she and a colleague - the later President of the Federal Council Sissy Roth-Halvax (ÖVP) - physically disturbed Federal Councilor John Gudenus during a vote on April 14, 2005 by pressing down his arm, which was raised for the vote but she did not quite succeed. The yes vote of Gudenus was counted, the new election proposal of the opposition received a majority (which, however, remained without constitutional consequences).

Gansterer-Zaminer justified her behavior with the fact that she wanted to prevent a "mistake". But TV pictures show a longer struggle. The incident had no consequences for Michaela Gansterer-Zaminer, not least because Gudenus said in response to inquiries from journalists that he did not really feel hindered in casting votes.
