Michaela Kastel

Michaela Kastel (* 1987 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Michaela Kastel grew up in Lower Austria . After graduating from a Catholic private school, she began to study law , German and Scandinavian studies. After moving to Vienna, she worked in the wholesale book trade for a few years, later in a small, private bookshop.

In November 2018 she received the Viktor Crime Award , which was presented for the first time and was donated by Sebastian Fitzek , for her thriller So Dark the Forest at the Mord am Hellweg crime festival . In it, Kastel tells of the fate of children who have fallen into the clutches of a child molester. In 2019 she presented her second thriller with Emons Verlag , What we are silent about.
