Michaela Schüchner (* 1977 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Since September 2019 she has been the head of the 14th district of Penzing in Vienna .

Life

Michaela Schüchner grew up in Gampern in Upper Austria and attended the Vöcklabruck grammar school . After training at the Pedagogical Academy Ettenreichgasse in Vienna , she worked as a teacher for inclusive and special education at the Center for Speech Therapy .

Schüchner was active as chairwoman of the Kinderfreunde in Vienna- Penzing for over ten years , from 2015 she was a district councilor member of the district council and headed the committee for youth, senior citizens and social affairs in the district parliament. On September 12, 2019 Andrea Kalchbrenner resigned from the office of district head after more than 18 years, Schüchner was elected district head at the meeting of the district council and sworn in by city councilor Jürgen Czernohorszky . In February 2020 she was elected as the SPÖ's top candidate in the Penzing district for the 2020 district council election.

She is married and has two children.
