Mikhail Fedotowitsch Ovsjannikow

Mikhail Fedotowitsch Ovsyannikov ( Russian Михаи́л Федо́тович Овся́нников , English transcription Mikhail Fedotovich Ovsyannikov) (born November 21, 1915 ; † August 11, 1987 ) was a Soviet philosopher.

Life

He graduated from Moscow State Pedagogical University in 1939. He wrote his first dissertation in 1943 with the title " The fate of art in the capitalist milieu of Hegel and Balzac " ("Судьба искусства в капиталистическом обществе у Гегеля и акаль"). In 1961 he received his doctorate in philosophy. He was a Hegel specialist and worked on questions of Marxist aesthetics . From 1968 to 1974 he headed the philosophical faculty of Lomonosov University .
