Michail Konstantinowitsch Schcherbakow ( Russian Михаи́л Константи́нович Щербако́в ; born March 27, 1963 in Obninsk ) is a Russian poet and songwriter.

He was born in the town of Obninsk in the Kaluga region, the first poems and songs were published in 1978. Shcherbakov has lived in Moscow since 1982, from that year he studied at the Philological Faculty of Lomonosov University in Moscow until 1988. He has been a professional poet since then and songwriter.

He either appears alone (with an acoustic guitar ) or with Michail Starodubzew (acoustic guitar, backing vocal). The recordings for albums are also made with the participation of Starodubzew, mostly with the synthesizer . Sometimes Shcherbakov also takes part in the recordings and concerts of Juli Kim .

Path of creation

1) 1978-1981 - More than 100 songs have been created. The majority of them are described by the author as "nonexistent", none of them belong to today's repertoire.

2) 1982—1988 - About 100 songs were created, 80 of which were later released on CDs, around 20 songs from this period are sung in concerts, sometimes with apologies for the inadequacy of the lyrics. There are 10 poems from this period that have not been set to music.

3) 1989-1995 - Around 130 songs were created, 128 of which were released on CDs. The books “The cherry jam”, “There is and there was no poison” (both 1990), and “Another life” (1996) were published.

4) 1996-2005 - About 80 songs were created and published in spring 2006, in addition, new recordings of 120 older songs were released.

5) 2006-2008 - 12 new songs were written and sung in concerts. The book "13 Disks" has been published.
