Mikhail Savoyarow , Mikhail Nikolayevich Savoyarow ( Russian Михаил Николаевич Савояров , transcribed Mikhail Nikolajevic Sawojarow , Mikhai'l Nikolaevič Savoyárov ; of the words: Savoy , Savoy , Savoyard ; born November 18 . Jul / thirtieth November 1876 greg. , Moscow; † August 4, 1941, ibid.) Was a Russian (less Soviet) chansonnier , cabaret artist , composer , poet and mim eccentric of the era of the Silver Century , the only fumist on the stage of the Russian Empire. In the first 25 years of the 20th century, Zavoyarov enjoyed a wide acquaintance and reputation as an author and interpreter of songs and chansons as an artist of the coarse style or the « Kotz -Chansonnier» .
The height of his popularity fell during the First World War (1914–1918): his naturalistic ditties and satirical chansons were sung in every corner of Petrograd , the scores were published by the publishers Euterpe and Economik - marked as bestsellers , his photographs were sold as Postcards “for the front, for victory” , and his concerts took place almost every day - always sold out.
At the same time he became friends with Alexander Blok , who valued Savoyarov's work and often attended his performances, alone or with his wife . After a series of particularly popular chansons ("Drunk Moon", "Pussy-Cat", "Our Culture", "Thank you sincerely") Savoyarov was crowned with the unofficial title of King of the Eccentric .
Since the years of greatest popularity of the artist coincided with the time of the renaming of the Russian capital, he can be called a Petrograd artist.
The grandson of Mikhail Savoyarov, Yuri Savoyarov, known by the pseudonym Yuri Khanon , is also a Russian composer , artist and writer who has brought back to life the radical spirit of the futurists and absurdists of the post-revolutionary years, especially his grandfather and Daniil Charms in particular calls.
