Mikhail Pawlowitsch Ogonkow ( Russian Михаил Павлович Огоньков; born June 24, 1932 in Moscow , † August 14, 1979 ibid) was a Soviet football player .

career

Ogonkov began his career in 1952 with Spartak Moscow , with whom he won two Soviet championship titles. On May 26, 1958, Ogonkow was arrested along with his national team colleagues Eduard Strelzow and Boris Tatuschin . Although he was released, it was not until 1961 that he was given permission to play football again in the Soviet highest league . After an injury, the defender ended his active career in 1961.
