Mikhail Leonidowitsch Slonimski

Mikhail Leonidovich Slonimsky ( Russian Михаил Леонидович Слонимский * July 20 . Jul / 1. August  1897 greg. In Saint Petersburg (according to other sources in Pavlovsk ), † 8. October 1972 in Leningrad) was a Soviet Russian writer.

Slonimski belonged to the group of Serapion brothers . He wrote short stories about the First and Second World Wars, including novels on the problems of intellectuals in post-revolutionary Russian society ("Lavrovy", 1926, revised 1949). Translated into German, Dietz-Verlag published a story about Eugen Leviné in 1949 .

Michail Slonimski was a brother of Nicolas Slonimsky . His son was the musician Sergei Slonimski, who died in 2020 .
