Mikhail Vladimirovich Wolkenstein ( Russian Михаил Владимирович Волькенштейн ., Scientific transliteration Mikhail Vladimirovič Vol'kenštejn ; born October 10 . Jul / 23. October  1912 greg. In St. Petersburg ; † 18th February 1992 in Moscow ) was a Russian biophysicist.

Life

He taught as a professor at Moscow's Lomonosov University and headed the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences .

Wolkenstein's scientific publications are in the field of quantum biophysics, the chemistry of biopolymers, the quantum mechanical model of enzyme catalysis (1970) and the Fermi resonance in the peptide bonds.
