Michal Pešek (born May 4, 1959 in Prague ; † May 7, 2012 there ) was a Czech actor , presenter and local politician .

Life

After studying acting at the Prague Conservatory in Prague, Pešek started playing at the State Theater in 1980 and later at the Ostrava City Theaters . During this time he also had one of his first television appearances in the series The Fairy Tale Bride . In his homeland, one of his most famous roles was that of the young detective Jirí Otradovec in the 1982-1986 television series Malý pitaval z velkého mesta . From 1984 to 1990 he was part of the Divadlo na Vinohradech ensemble in Prague. He then worked until 1993 as a presenter at various radio stations in Prague, such as TV Nova .

He then switched to politics and business, among other things he was an advisor to the Czech Finance Minister Ivo Svoboda . Most recently he lived in the Netherlands.

Pešek died of lung cancer at the age of 53.
