Michalis Dountas

Michalis Dountas (Μιχάλης Δούντας; December 3, 1932 in Thessaloniki ; † December 2, 2006 ) was a Greek diplomat .

Life

Dountas studied law at the University of Athens . In 1958 he joined the foreign service.

From 1960 to 1963 he was consul in Toronto . From 1963 to 1966 he worked as a first-class delegation secretary and from 1969 to 1971 as a delegation counselor in Nicosia , where he was ambassador from 1974 to 1979. From 1966 to 1969 he was Counselor in Washington, DC

In 1980 he was ambassador to Norway and from 1987 to 1988 ambassador to Moscow .

Dountas was married to the ambassador Maria Zografou.
