Michel-André Fels

Michel-André Fels (* 1960 , legal resident in St. Gallen ) is a Swiss lawyer . From 2006 to 2007 he was an interim Swiss federal prosecutor .

Life

After studying law at the University of Bern , he was patented as a Bern advocate in 1989. From 1995 to 2001 he worked for the public prosecutor of the canton of Bern , among other things as associate procurator general. From 2001 to 2007 he was federal public prosecutor, since 2004 as deputy federal prosecutor. Following the resignation of Valentin Roschacher , the Federal Prosecutor's Office was continued on an interim basis by Michel-André Fels from July 5, 2006. On August 13, 2007, Erwin Beyeler was appointed First Public Prosecutor of the Canton of St. Gallen until he took office , then Federal Prosecutor of Switzerland. Fels resigned from his office as deputy federal prosecutor a little later.

From 2009 to 2016 he was Deputy Public Prosecutor of the Canton of Bern. Since January 1, 2017, he has been attorney general and deputy chairman of the judiciary of the canton of Bern.

Michel-André Fels is married and has three children. As a politician, he was for a time Vice President of the FDP in his home town of Burgdorf BE .
