Michel Chatelais

Michel Chatelais (born May 27, 1933 ) is a French diplomat, most recently with the rank of ambassador .

Life

Michel Chatelais graduated from the École nationale de la France d'Outre-Mer (ENFOM) in Paris in 1956 and entered the diplomatic service . From 1960 to 1964 he was employed in the Département d'outre-mer - Territoire d'outre-mer . Chatelais headed the area from 1985 to 1989. After he was withdrawn as ambassador to Belgrade in connection with France's participation in Operation Sky Monitor in May 1992, he headed the Africa department at headquarters. From 1993 to 1994 he was ambassador to Beirut and from 1995 to 1999 in Lomé .
