Michel Crespin

Michel Crespin (born April 28, 1955 in Saint-Bonnet-en-Champsaur , Hautes-Alpes , † February 14, 2001 ) was a French cartoonist .

After studying in Nice , he published his first short stories in the Métal hurlant magazine in 1977 . His main theme, the conquest of nature through technical progress, could already be guessed at in this early work. Two years later, his oppressive dystopia Marseil ( Eng : In the shadow of freedom ) followed as an album, five more were to follow. In Germany three volumes of the series appeared under the title Burned Earth .

For the publishing house Vents d'Ouest he drew the three-part medieval saga Troubadour from 1999 . In the 1990s he drew other single albums and also worked as an illustrator for a number of children's books.
