Michel dos Reis Santana , called Michel , (born November 18, 1977 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .

The defender began his career at FC Santos . In 1998 he was loaned to Francana and then returned. In 2001 he moved to Vitória before going back to FC Santos. With the club he became Brazilian champion in 2002. However, he had also tested positive in a doping control that year and was banned for 160 days. He then went to Goiás , Gremio and São Paulo FC . With São Paulo he won the Copa Libertadores in 2005 . Then Michel was with the weaker clubs Brasiliense , Vila Nova , Fortaleza , Avaí and Criciúma . In 2009 he played again in the Série A when he returned to Avaí, who had been promoted the year before.
