Michele Di Ruberto

Michele Di Ruberto (born August 28, 1934 in Pietra Montecorvino , Italy ) is a retired Curial Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Di Ruberto received on 29 September 1957, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He studied at the Pontifical Lateran University and the University of Naples .

In 1969 Di Ruberto became a member of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints . He became the person responsible for reviewing the miracles of candidates for canonization in 1984 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Undersecretary of the Congregation for Canonization in 1993.

On May 5, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Di Ruberto Secretary of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints and Titular Archbishop of Biccari . He was ordained bishop by Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone on June 30th of the same year.

On December 29, 2010, Benedict XVI. the resignation from the office of secretary of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, put forward by Di Ruberto for reasons of age.
